Wonder if you could address the online dating scene. I'm 52 and am new to it. Maybe I'm old school but I have written 30 e-mails which I consider appropriate and somewhat interesting hot women with nary a response. Am I being impatient or overly hopeful or is that atmosphere somewhat brutal and rude? At the least, polite rejection would be appreciated.

Despite all their sophisticated hype and high-tech filters and screens, none can guarantee that you'll find your special free personals someone.
That's still a matter of old-fashioned effort, patience and luck.
Yet it does happen. Many of my friends, family, and patients have met their match, dated and mated thanks to the Internet.
To improve your chances, though, there are specific things that you must do.
First, think about flaws - yours, and those you'd be willing to put up with in another person.
What matters most to you, and what are you willing to compromise on? What do you have to offer? What is it that you want or need?
You might consider a specialty site that further narrows the field to those who share your core values.
For example, if you're seeking a Christian partner, try ChristianMingle or Christian Cafe. If you're seeking date sites a Jewish partner, try JDate. If you're a pet owner, there's Datemypet or HorseandCountrySingles.
